Personal Information Protection Policy and Guiding Principles
This privacy statement has been prepared to inform you of T & C Global’s policy and practices
concerning the collection, use and disclosure of personal information. It does not apply to the
practices of companies that T & C Global does not own or control, or of persons that T & C Global does not employ or manage, including any third-party independent contractors and any third-party websites to which T & C Global’s websites link.
T & C Global is committed to respecting the privacy of its members, their families, and our employees.
T & C Global only collects personal information necessary to facilitate its commercial activities as a commercial, business to business barter exchange, and to facilitate commercial, non-cash transactions between its members, to obtain payment for its services, to respond to the needs of each member, prospective member and employee, and to meet applicable regulations. Name, address, and information concerning registration form a permanent record for members and employees. All other information is kept only as long as required to fulfill the purposes identified, unless permission is obtained from the individual providing the information.
All members will have the ability to consent to the uses of their personal information. A prospective member, member, or employee of T & C Global grants through the act of registering consent to the use of personal information by T & C Global members and employees for the purposes of transacting barter transactions, informing members of corporate activities, and for analysis. Prospective members, members and employees will have the opportunity to select at any time whether they wish to be informed of other member benefits not specifically related to barter transactions. They can choose whether information other than name, address, and information concerning registration, be kept for a longer period of time. T & C Global will assume consent is granted unless a member indicates otherwise.
T & C Global will explain the purposes for collecting each piece of personal information. If it is necessary to use the personal information collected for a purpose not identified when the information was collected, consent for the new use will be obtained from prospective members, members or employees.
T & C Global will use the personal information obtained from prospective members, members and employees only for the purposes for which it was collected, and will not disclose the information for other purposes except as required by applicable law.
All personal information provided to T & C Global will be maintained in a secure manner to ensure that its use is limited to the purposes for which it was collected.
Name, address, and information concerning registration, received will be retained by T & C Global permanently. Other personal information including business name, nature of business and products and services offered, pricing and credit policies will be retained by T & C Global for whatever periods are required by legislation governing our operation and/or the information provided, after which time (unless consent is given to keep information for a longer period) the information will be destroyed in a secure manner.
T & C Global may disclose your personal information to other members and to third parties who work on behalf of T & C Global to provide services requested by you, including other commercial barter exchanges. We will share personal information for these purposes only with third parties whose privacy policies are consistent with ours or who agree to abide by our policies with respect to personal information.
T & C Global may otherwise disclose your personal information when:
We have your express consent to share the information for a specified purpose;
We need to respond to subpoenas, court orders or such other legal process;
We need to protect the personal safety of our members or employees or users of our websites or
defend the rights or property of T & C Global; or we find that your actions violate the T & C Global Terms of Use document or any of our usage guidelines for specific products or services.
Members will have the ability to view and review data provided on their application for membership at any time through the T & C Global System. Individuals may, on presentation of a document establishing their identity to T & C Global, be able to find out whether
personal information is on file with T & C Global, and if so consult it free of charge. A request may also be made in writing or by telephone to view information. A reasonable charge may apply for the transcription, reproduction, or transmission of the information. An individual may challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information, and have it corrected or amended as appropriate
T & C Global will assess and implement appropriate measures to properly protect personal data.
This policy and the processes and procedures for obtaining access to personal information will be available to any individual through our web site, and in the compilation of our policies and procedures.
Individuals may challenge T & C Global’’s compliance with this policy by contacting the Compliance officer. Procedures will be established to deal with an individual’’s concern in an appropriate and timely fashion.
Definitions:
“Prospective Member” –– an individual that has indicated an interest in becoming a member of
T & C Global by filling out an enquiry form, or an application for membership, but has not yet been accepted for membership.
“Member” –– an individual that has completed an application for membership, has been
accepted for membership and has paid a membership fee.
